A gentle nudge to move your body, even when the season says slow down.

So here I am on the couch and out the blue receive a message from my good friend Jaimee of FashionMABE about a fitness challenge. Now yall KNOW...I am nobody's fitness babe. I do my pilates on lower levels and choose pickleball over tennis because it's not as strenuous. In a nutshell, I don't like to sweat yet I know in efforts of makin goal weights I'd need at this point...get a trainer, lol. Anyhoo...when she proceeded to say all I needed to do is WALK...I said without hesitation...IM IN.
If it's ONE thing I know I can do...is walk but I will be honest-I do the most of my walking OUTSIDE because I love the nature and getting lost in fresh air. I, like most of us will fall off and get hella lazy during the colder months n I've decided this was gonna be the season I would break that curse vs waiting for the new year-NOPE!! Jaimee's message was actually right on time because my walking treadmill was sitting in the corner collecting dust. I had purchased it at the top of the year to utilize during inclement weather but once Spring hit...it was out of sight out of mind.
I want to offer up some solutions to getcho azz up off the couch and get the moving!! The challenge just started 01 Dec and my goal is 10k steps a day, however, I've had some dental work twice this week that has kept me from that goal BUT I still clock in SOMETHING. Whether it's 2500, 5k or just below 10k, I am dedicated to showing up for myself (and contribute to the group) EVERYDAY.
This walking treadmill pad w/incline is cheaper than mine and this one. Now I use it solely to leisurely walk. I'm not using the incline or running n lightly jogging (refer to first paragraph). Entering into a challenge keeps US accountable and who doesn't want the extra push of community rooting for each other.

Winter has a way of convincing us to slow down, curl up, and forget about the simple magic of movement. But “Winter Steps & Cozy Strides” is all about reclaiming that magic—one gentle walk at a time. Even 30 minutes on the walking treadmill can shift your whole mood, keep those quiet-season pounds from creeping in, and remind your body that you deserve to feel energized, not slumped on the couch. No resolutions, no waiting for January—just a cozy commitment to keep yourself moving right now.

So put on your socks (or slippers, lol), queue up a playlist, catch up on youtube and give yourself the gift of motion. These winter steps don’t have to be fast, flashy, or perfect—just consistent. Cozy strides today make for a lighter, brighter you all season long. Let’s move.
