The Kiss Lock Clutch That Channels Coach, Found Right on...

There’s something undeniably chic about the click of a kiss lock clasp—it’s like the sound of fashion history snapping into place. These charming closures date back to the early 1900s, when kiss lock handbags were a staple accessory for women on the go, offering elegance and practicality in one dainty package. Fast forward to today, and the vintage allure is making a modern comeback—this time, with a twist.

By now yall have seen Coach's Kisslock bag be all the rage since it's sneak a peek debut last year and folks have been drooling and waiting to snatch em up. I knew I'd need to opt out and not pay the 5 Gina and just wait on a dupe! If you didn't catch the release-they are OUT OF STOCK and if you take a gander at the aftermarket prices you'd come back here and keep on reading, lol.

I'd normally scour Amazon for a dupe but finding the RIGHT size bag in this trendy kiss lock was the hard part. The closest one I found was here---> click me but even that didn't satisfy my craving because I'm an oversized lover. When I tell yall I was on the HUNT...I just didn't wanna settle for an Amazon find to partake in the trend. I legit like vintage style bags and between kiss locks and doctor bags-they are my fave! My grandma has tons of coin purses and glasses cases of kiss locks.

So months have passed and by now the bag is released and gone with no good dupe to share in sight. Fret not, good things come to those who wait. I was scrolling etsy and also...pay attention to the algorithms cuz they knew what I was looking for, lol. I just kept ignoring it. It wasn't until I took a closer look after revisiting the shop I was following where I said OMG THIS IS IT!!! What really sold me beyond the size was the COLOR.

I am fully embracing my darker side-NOT BLACK-but the army greens and chocolate browns of dark. I think those are better shades to get away with all year round more than oxblood. Those wine shades seem made for Fall/Winter to me.

I am no gatekeeper, lol. I found this vegan leather kiss lock bag at this Etsy Shop: VERNAkisslock and I am over the moon in love. The price is reasonable given the quality of the bag and the customer service was great. The shop owner was very responsive in keeping me updated. I have another bag in mind but it'll stay in the wishlist!!

What makes MY bag different? I had this grand idea for her to add some feet to the bag. I kinda went back n forth with the idea and she mentioned it was odd as it wouldn't be functional. I went with my creative glow and instincts-DO IT!! I love the quirky touch of the feet in case I want it on the table and I like the added detail of how it shows when I carry it under the arm. Moral of the styory: trust your gut. Also note: I don't have a shoulder strap. You'd need to ask her to make it an option but I typically carry my bags with handles.

There's something beautifully dramatic about vintage wear. I can appreciate brands like Coach who bring back a classic like the kiss lock and introduce it to a newer generation with a modern twist. It's definitely a timeless charm. This dupe delivers that perfect blend of nostalgia to allow you expression in the lane of major retro glam without the designer price tag in this economy. Who knew an Etsy click could serve so much charm?!

Proof that vintage charm and modern finds can coexist—beautifully and on a budget. Snag this dainty dupe before the rest of the gals find out because the cats out the bag ;)
