To kick off my October weekends, I decided to go to a spot referred to by one of my husbands who found it via IG and went for a visit on his own. He stamped it and I wanted to try it out for myself but for different reasons. So here I am going outside of my zip code to take a trip to Kensington, MD to visit...La Gelatteria.

La Gelatteria offers all day brunch, coffee n cocktails with an extensive menu with pastries, sandwiches and of course...gelato's but I went for the flights. I've been wanting to try coffee flights for a minute and when I seen they offered it, I was ready to coast across the beltway to land in "upper" Maryland, lol.
Before I get into my coffee flights review; let me take a moment to give a quick style story. For spooky season, I'll be featuring my favorite quirky bags. I wanted to keep the fit as simple as possible with a white blouse n jeans but veered off to this polka dot top to fit the the theme of the bag. My Disney carousel bag by Loungefly is here and was inspired by missing out on the Kate Spade version. Becuz it is a fun bag, I wanted to keep the outfit in the same vein and polka dots just keep me young.

Let's resume the ride...the hardest part was picking from so many options. This is my first time doing coffee flights and ooooh I like it. Gives me a chance to sample flavors since I’m too indecisive at times for just ONE!! To experience it allows you to pause time and sit still to enjoy the favors vs being on the go which is perfect for my slow mornings.
Pistachio latte hands down my favorite but I could be bias since pistachio anything is my fave. It’s rich in espresso and the nutty flavor kicks in as a hint later.
Lavender Latte- to be as expected. I’m a floral lover and I gotta be in the mood for a lavender since it’s not as sweet as my defaults. The lavender garnishments won’t kill you lol.
Tiramisu Latte- if I wasn’t infatuated with pistachio THIS would’ve been my top pick. It taste like what the pics of the dessert look like. Very enjoyable treat this was n would make a good night cap…without the caffeine lol.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch- I let the young man at the counter talk me into this…I mention young man cuz after my first sip I should’ve smacked myself as a reminder I’m almost FORTY FIVE!! It was soooo good and SWEET that with every sip I knew I’d pay for the indulgence later. HIGHLY recommend you try if your in my age group cuz misery loves company lol.

I’d suggest when doing flights to have the flavors flow n not too mixy in the same vain u wouldn’t mix darks n whites when drinking alcohol (so I’ve heard). Had I stuck to this formula I would’ve done the Dulce de Leche vs Lavender. This coffee spot has some premium coffee to serve and I look forward to returning to try another round of flights so I can narrow down my ONE...or two I'd grab again in full size. After my flights, I went outside to the patio area for my typical photoshoot when...
One of the morning bikers photobombed me, yes, I allowed it. He was fun to chat with and he gave me some coffee spot rec's for downtown DC-it's good to know a guy, lol. "Batman" led me to meeting the owner, Elias who was sweet and headed out to a venue for a pop up! My morning encounters definitely set the tone for the day and my heart was full. GO OUTSIDE and be open to engaging in small talk with strangers. Ya never know what opportunities can lead from it or partnerships crafted.
Overall, it was a clean spot and friendly vibe. I appreciated seeing younginz up so early and eager to work. The one young man helped me pick my last flight. The atmosphere was comfortable. You can tell locals frequent this spot as well and the touch of the Tic Tac Toe on the wall to play is a cute touch. I'll be sure to come back with my coffee date, Toot.
